Kolossi Castle is a stout 15th-century keep near Episkopi — headquarters of the Knights of St John (Hospitallers) and the historic heart of Commandaria wine production. From Limassol it is a short hop inland from the Kourion road — typically 20–30 minutes from the New Port.
Cruise ships dock at Limassol New Port (passenger terminal). Limassol Marina and the medieval old town sit roughly 10–15 minutes away by taxi. Kourion is about 20–25 minutes west along the coast; Aphrodite's Rock (Petra tou Romiou) typically 40–50 minutes; Troodos Mountains need 1–1.5 hours each way. Confirm all-aboard and keep a 60–90 minute return buffer.
Allow 30–45 minutes: climb the keep for countryside views, read the Hospitaller story, and note the sugar-mill ruins nearby. It is compact — easy to combine with Kourion without rushing either site.
Commandaria — one of the world's oldest named wines — was produced and traded from this estate. Pair Kolossi with a wine-village tasting on longer calls, or keep it as the Crusader chapter of a Best of Cyprus combo.
