Troodos Mountains Tour

Pine forests and stone villages — Cyprus's mountain heart from Limassol.

Duration: 7–9 hoursPace: ModerateBest for: Passengers on long calls who prefer mountains over coastal archaeology

Leave the marina heat for Troodos — mountain villages, forest viewpoints and cooler air. A full-day inland commitment from Limassol New Port with 1–1.5 hour transfers each way.

Scenic drive into the Troodos range with stops in one or two villages (often including a wine or café break) and a panorama point. Some itineraries include a painted church — confirm when booking.

Not ideal under 8–9 usable hours. First-timers who have never seen Kourion should weigh this against Best of Cyprus carefully.

Private tours can shorten the mountain loop or combine a foothill village with a coastal stop — see private-cyprus-tour.

Getting there from the cruise port

Cruise ships dock at Limassol New Port / passenger terminal. City marina and old town are roughly 10–15 minutes away. Kourion lies about 20–25 minutes west along the coast. Aphrodite's Rock (Petra tou Romiou) is typically 40–50 minutes. Troodos Mountains need longer — allow 1–1.5 hours each way. Confirm your all-aboard time and keep a 60–90 minute return buffer.

Tips for cruise passengers

  • Long-call only
  • Bring a light layer
  • Motion-sickness care on mountain roads
